The Communicate Tab

Most folks just need to click the Connect button daily.

Click this tab to use FastTrack communication to:

• update your data.
• upgrade your programs to the latest version.
• check the integrity of your existing databases and make needed corrections.
• Install new databases.
• Enter your account, password, and set basic path information describing your FastTrack as set up on your disk drives.

There is also a standalone version of this same capability known as FTCOMM 2, file named FTWINAPP.EXE.

Why a Communicate Tab?

This is a convenience. Rather than having to close FT4Web and open up FTComm to do a data update, use this tab for data updates.

When to use the Communicate Tab?

When you are running FT4Web, it is quick to use any of the Communicate Tab's features.

If you have not started the charting program, use FTComm instead. FTComm is smaller and starts faster.

Other than start-up, there is no speed advantage using FTComm vs the Communicate Tab.
